Young Enough to Play is a book of poery that explores the lyric personae from the perspective of a Filipino woman writer, with poems such as "The Maria Clara" and "Psyche." It includes the first of Fabunan's lyric experimentations, using the ghost forms of the pantoum, the sestina, and the sonnet, among others. It is confessional work that borrows from and is written after Sylvia Plath, Anne Sexton, Angela Manalang Gloria, and Louise Glück.
